Do you know Joseph Smith?
Just spent the last 24 hours rolling in my bed, watching PBS docs. I’ve always been fascinated with spirituality, religious beliefs, faith, doctrines and traditions. So I enjoyed the 4-hour series on Mormons, which I only knew a little about.
Luckily for me (or is it a shame?) my way of life allows me to be curious about others and opened to different ideas.
Apparently, the more languages you know, the easier it is to learn additional ones. And in the same way, it seems to me that knowing differents ways of life gives more clarity (distance?) towards everything taught in each faith.
One interesting topic discussed in this documentary is the challenge this religion represents for intellectuals, feminists, or any one ready to question the said Truth within this secluded community.
And to answer the question, Joseph Smith is their Prophet. And quite an interesting character.

mais rien, non rien n’arrivera à la cheville (partir les violons) de ce grand peuple, mené par un sens du destin et du devoir - ces exclus qui à force de persévérance ont finalement trouvé leur terre, une terre sèche et inhospitalière, mais leur terre à eux. oui les mormons, mes amis, les mormons!!!!! tartatin!
